UCLA Extension - GIS and Geospatial Technology Certificate
I enrolled in UCLA Extension’s GIS and Geospatial Technology Certificate program after completing Esri’s Massive Open Online Course in cartography in 2022. I committed to the program because I understood that GIS technical skills are an avenue to many kinds of interesting work, but I also committed because I have a lot of fun designing maps.
Over the course of these post-baccalaureate studies, I grew comfortable creating maps and performing basic spatial analyses with both ArcGIS Pro and QGIS. Under expert instruction, I gained a solid foundation with desktop and cloud GIS environments; one that has enabled efficient extension into scripting and automation in graduate school.
