UCLA MAGIST - Master of Applied Geospatial Information Systems and Technologies
My first year in UCLA’s MAGIST program granted me comfort with three new languages, namely SQL, Python, and JavaScript. Each offers a significant advantage to my GIS toolkit, but JavaScript may excite me the most because it allows me to create maps and share them with others, regardless of their skillset or access to proprietary software.
The six pages below show the development of my JavaScript vocabulary over the course of spring quarter 2024. Under guidance from my professor, I’ve gained considerable familiarity with the Leaflet and D3 libraries.
