This app offers time slider functionality, working with data sourced from the Italian National Institute of Statistics.
From iSTAT's "Time Series" database: "Time Series is an archive gathering about 1,500 time series which can be downloaded and processed. Data are organized in 22 topics and 6 macro-areas, each one enriched by Interactive visualisations on the main explored phenomena. This app uses data retrieved from iSTAT Time Series' "Population" category. Specifically, Table_2.9.xls and Table_2.10.1.xls covering "Emigrants and national returning migrants by country of destination and origin (Europe or other countries) - Years 1869-2014" and "Emigrants and National returning migrants by region and geographical area - Years 1876-2014," respectively, were downloaded and processed to present via webmap with timeline exploration.

... were retrieved along with the rest of iSTAT Time Series' "Population" tables during a process of exploratory data visualization executed for an experimental project on historical Italian migration trends (UCLA Digital Humanities 201: Core Seminar in Digital Humanities; Winter 2024). Ultimately only Tables 2.9 and 2.10.1 reached this presentation stage.
